Emma’s daughter, Elizabeth (Lila) Jane Johnston-Thomasson, was born in Belfast, Ireland, in 1902. In 1920, Lila immigrated to Canada, bringing with her not just her dreams, but this cherished family recipe.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eLila baked these cookies with love for holidays and special occasions, and she passed the tradition to her daughter Patricia (born 1929). From Patricia the recipe went to Susan, then to Jane, and then to Jane’s children — Michaela, Emma, Kenna, and Jackson.
